All of us church leaders and members, play a pivotal role in mobilizing for evangelism. With Pentecost 2025, our goal in North America is to hold at least 3,000 proclamation initiatives in 2025, with 2024 a year of “Preparing for Pentecost.” We are in this together! Again — let us, with renewed zeal, embrace the mission, proclaim the distinctive truths entrusted to us, and embody the love of Christ in a world hungering for hope and wholeness.
Pentecost 2025
Looking Back
In Acts 2, one can see how Pentecost dramatically impacted the early church. In fact, many Christians regard Pentecost as the birthdate of the Christian church. Pentecost marks the fulfillment of Jesus Christ’s promise to send the Holy Spirit to empower and guide His disciples. According to the biblical account, the disciples were gathered in Jerusalem when suddenly a sound like a rushing wind filled the place, and tongues of fire appeared over each of them. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, a manifestation of the Spirit’s empowering presence (see Acts 2:7, 8, 11). On that day, the church multiplied in number from 120 to 3,000 believers.
The Call
The Pentecost serves as a reminder of the call to engage in mission and evangelism. At the time of Pentecost, the disciples, empowered by the Holy Spirit, spoke in languages understood by a diverse assembly of people from various nations. This is not merely a historical event but a clarion call for us, as Seventh-day Adventists, to carry the everlasting gospel to every corner of the earth, starting here in North America.
Reaping
As our time on earth draws to a As our time on earth draws to a close, the Spirit of God will again be manifested in a similar way. The time is now — emboldened to share the good news, we are commissioned to be ambassadors of hope, compassion, and truth. Let us, with renewed zeal, embrace the mission, proclaim the distinctive truths entrusted to us, and embody the love of Christ in a world hungering for hope and wholeness.
